Wednesday Evening Market
This beloved evening market takes place every Wednesday through September 21, so make sure you check out one of the best, biggest and most notable local markets in KCMO before the end of the season! Open from 4-7p.m. at City market in downtown, it’s ideal for happy hour and just what you need to avoid the rush hour.
It’s the first year of the evening market, and specialty farmers, along with local artists and artisans, come together to offer live music and cooking demos in a relaxing open-air environment. Nearby restaurants feature specials and generous hours so you can make a full evening of exploration.
Going to Market
City Market was established in 1857, proudly serving as KCMO’s most historic market. Offering traditional weekend farmer’s markets, farm to table experiences, and a variety of events year-round, you will want to keep up with the happenings to find out more secrets, like the mid-week evening gathering. The classic farmer’s market is open every Saturday and Sunday in September at 7a.m. featuring Sundown Naturals at 10a.m.
Community yard sales are also offered on Sundays at 7a.m., with book sales on alternating Saturdays. Don’t forget the Harvest Festival on October 1, the ideal way to kick off autumn and the haunting season!
