“Wayside Waifs” a Charity Close to our Hearts
The month of April at the Best Western Plus Seville Plaza Hotel is all about pets, and finding them homes. We are a “pet friendly” hotel and we want all homeless and abused animals to find a forever home. So we have partnered with our local no-kill animal shelter of Wayside Waifs to help them succeed in just that.
Wayside Waifs was started in 1944 with a 20 acre farm. Through the years of donations they were able to add an adjacent facility in 1999, bring the size to 44 acres. The non-profit organization is not supported by local, state of federal funds or national organizations. It is financially supported primarily from memberships, bequests, pet cemetery, adoptions and gifts from the public. In December of 2012 Wayside Waifs opened a newly expanded shelter veterinary clinic. The 47,000 square foot building can shelter up to 800 animals. In one year alone, the shelter has cared for over 6,500 abandoned or abused animals. They do not euthanize animals and there is no time limit for animals in their care.
Help us in our quest to find these helpless animals their new homes. In addition to donating our guests pet fees, we will donate any usable item. Such as beds, food, leashes, and toys.
