The Science Center Is Expanding With Some New Exhibits!

Hoping to draw in and educate a younger crowd, the Science Center has a few new exhibits planned to open in March.  The museum has been working with curators from the Boston Children’s Museum to design some activities that will make science fun for kids entering or in kindergarten, balancing their other parts, which are aimed for grade school or middle school children.

Let’s Play

The Let’s Play section is geared towards the youngest children – babies and toddlers.  It’s focused on a sensory experience where developing minds can explore smell, touch, and sight in an environment designed to stimulate their brain.  There’s even a crawling area where babies on the move can play safely.

Creative Corner

The creative corner encourages creativity, with walls to draw on and plenty of art activities to engage in.  Art may seem out of place at a science center but creative hobbies are crucial to improving the brain.  Families can all play together in the Creative Corner so you can bond with your kids over your masterpieces.

All Aboard

Most exciting is the All Aboard exhibit, where kids can explore the world of trains, including building train tracks, exploring a locomotive, and viewing models of trains that have passed through Union Station.  It’s sure to catch the interest of kids of various ages.

With the new exhibits, the Science Center is a can’t-miss while you’re in Kansas City!
