The Most Unique Places For Dinner In K.C.

Kansas City is a foodie city – we have some of the best cuisine in the country, so we put together a list of some of our favorite restaurants!

Most Unique Places To Dine In K.C.

These aren’t your standard restaurants, however.  Each one of these stands out in some way, be it by the unique taste of their dishes or the stand-out atmosphere.  Read on to find a new place for you to have dinner!

The Dinner Detective

1301 Wyandotte St, Kansas City, MO 64105

Be a part of a murder mystery while you eat.  In between courses, actors will perform, giving you clues about who the murderer is, and while eating, be sure to talk with your tablemates to see if they were involved.  It’s amazing fun, and of course, the food is great as well.  By the end of the evening, you’ll have enjoyed dinner and a show!

BlueStem

900 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO 64111

BlueStem focuses on serving dishes made with the freshest ingredients and gastronomic twists.  Their foie gras is served with blackberries and a lemon gelee, and rather than caramelizing their sea scallops, they caramelize the onions it’s served with.  Your tastebuds will sing here, and you may pick up some new flavors to recreate at home.  Whatever you do, make sure you order the grapefruit tart.  The citrus is bright against heavier notes of earl grey, pistachio, and chamomile – it’s basically a tea party in a pie crust.

Corvino Supper Club

1830 Walnut St, Kansas City, MO 64108

The Tasting Room sablefish, cream dashi, kale . People often ask, what’s the difference between the Supper Club and the Tasting Room. Well, it’s like having 2 separate restaurants under one roof. The Tasting Room is tucked away from the Supper Club, and open to the kitchen, where you see Chef Michael and team creating your dishes. We have anywhere from 10-12 courses of a very seasonal prix fixe menu, with which we can accommodate for dietary restrictions. You’ll discover Chef Michael’s most exacting preparations, luxury ingredients, and adventurous tastes. Carefully selected wine pairings are available to round out your experience, or of course we have a full bottle list, and delicious cocktails. . You make reservations just like normal – it’s not private dining, which is a common misconception. We only seat a maximum of 18 people, so this keeps it an intimate and personal experience for you. . #tastingmenu #jbfa2019 #datenight #tastingroom #kcfood #kccrossroads #kansascity #kcmo #kcpride #creativeeats #eatout #chefowned #eatlocal

The Supper Club is actually twofold – you can dine in the Supper Club on classic dishes that have been modernized, like steak tartare with egg and horseradish, or for an even more special experience, you can go to the attached tasting room and get a multi-course prix fixe tasting menu, with the option to have perfectly matched wine to compliment the flavors of the foods.  Both menus change regularly, depending on season, supply, and the chef’s moods.  It’s an amazing experience, but call ahead, because the Tasting Room’s limited spots fill up fast.

Fannie’s

41005 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64110

It’s easy to find a restaurant serving Italian or Greek food, Chinese, or even German, but how often do you have the chance to try West African cuisine?  Fannie’s provides that opportunity, with dishes that are delicious in their simplicity.  Try the attieke, a traditional dish from the Ivory Coast.

These are just a few of the many amazing restaurants in Kansas City, so be prepared to dine well while you’re in town!
