Show Mom Your Love in KCMO
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and you know what that means—it’s time to book those Mother’s Day reservations! The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art hosts a special event celebrating mom at “Meet Me in Kansas City!” from noon until four. Meet cast members and experience what world fairs used to entail, listening to real stories as you check out the Inventing the Modern World: Decorative Arts at the World’s Fairs (1851-1939) exhibit. This free event includes memorabilia exploration, a photo booth in 1904 World’s Fair Couple style and more!
Mother’s Day at Powell Gardens is a real treat and the perfect way to burn some calories after having brunch at the lavish Café Thyme. Tour the gardens and check out Brookside Brass performing outdoors from 1-3pm. Spring blossoms are out, and the Heartland Harvest Garden offers samples of spring crops. Take a look at the Missouri Barn from the observation silo too!
