Shopping in Kansas City
Kansas City has always been a shopping destination
Always. Not only did the first shopping ‘mall’ in the country, the famed Country Club Plaza, originate here–but every time you turn a corner, a new shopping destination has been built. Hands-down, Kansas City shopping just can’t be beat.
But maybe you tire of big box stores and things you can find at any mall, anywhere, in any part of the country. Maybe you’re looking for that special gift. Maybe you’re looking for something for yourself that you won’t find anywhere. Well, you are in luck because Kansas City is full of shopping treasures just waiting to be uncovered.
If you are fortunate enough to be in town on the First Friday of the month, I’ll let you in on a little secret. The West Bottoms District come alive with antique and repurpose dealers. It’s also here that you’ll find the wildly sought after Bottoms Up—which just happens to be three full floors of amazing antiques, one-of-a-kind gift and goodies and everything from shabby chic and jewelry to vintage items galore.
