Prairiefire

At 5661 West 135th St., Prairiefire is tucked away in Overland Park. It’s a shopping, entertainment and dining destination with Cinetopia Theaters showing the latest Hollywood and international movies with reclining seats. Also check out the massive Pinstripes bowling and bocce center with a premium café, the museum and wetlands. Whether you’re in the mood to shop at your favorite and local boutiques, looking for a romantic restaurant or family-friendly dining, or looking for the best of everything KCMO has to offer in one spot, Prairiefire has it all.

The museum features rotating exhibits all focused on history and curated by researchers at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Semi-annual rotations have showcased fossils, cutting-edge interactive experiences and historical artifacts. The wetlands make a show of the state’s “natural neighborhoods,” putting all the habitats in one area with interpretive signage.

Shopping and Dining

Only the best dining experiences are offered at Prairiefire, including the famous bottomless meatballs at Pinstripes’ café. There’s also Rock and Brews with pub grub, Grimaldi’s Brick Oven Pizzeria and Vinotopia Restaurant and Wine Bar inside Cinetopia with an option for theater service. Get your just desserts (and coffee) at Decadent.

Unlike the crowded, sprawling malls, Prairiefire keeps the shops small and intimate for a better shopping experience. Visit Zuzu’s Petals, Adorn, or the French Tip Nail Salon for a little pampering. Made in KC is where you’ll find local keepsakes, and the local REI ensures you’re kitted out for the next adventure.
