The Nutcracker, Kansas City Ballet

From December 5 – 24, the Kansas City Ballet presents The Nutcracker at Muriel Kauffman Theatre at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Popular dates, including weekends and Christmas Eve, do sell out, so get your tickets early. As always, The Nutcracker is a magical holiday staple suitable for children and adults alike.

If you’re in KCMO during the holidays, transport yourself to merriment and joy with this reimagined performance. Enjoy the incredible costumes, sets and unique special effects created by Devon Carney, Artistic Director. Inspiring imagination for generations, it’s a fantastic year to start a new tradition and watch the magic come alive for your children.

“Merrying” Tradition and Modernity

Carney has a knack for taking tradition, retaining the heart of it, but putting a fresh spin on stories. He’s done it again with The Nutcracker, and even fans who’ve seen the performance scores of times will be thrilled at the new touches and homages Carney manages.

The theatre itself is also decked out for the season, so arrive early and explore the gorgeous scenery before settling into comfortable seats for a night like no other. Christmas spirit abounds at this family-friendly performance that can’t be missed.
