A must-see KCMO institution, where you can explore art, sign up for a class, or plan your trip around one of their many special events.
Adult, teen and kid classes are available, and scholarships are available for those who qualify. Adult classes include Roses in the Landscape, Relating to Art, Art & Healing Journaling and more! Kids can sign up for Start in Art, Clay Combo, Cartooning: Funny Faces! or a parent-child combo class.
Customize a tour, or create a special group bonding class and trip with your school or company. Free activities are offered every Saturday from 1 – 4 p.m., and November is dedicated to learning more about African patterns and textiles. Happy Hour in Bloch Lobby is stirring things up every Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. with a full bar and small plates to complement your museum tour.
One Stop for All!
The Nelson-Atkins Museum is dedicated to providing a fun, educational experience to visitors of all ages. Take a free Artful Conversation tour on November 9th at 1 p.m. where you can learn more about Storytelling in Stone: An Ancient Egyptian Relief. Every third Thursday you’re treated to a free concert, programing and activities including a meet and greet with local artists showcasing their work.
Enjoy mini museum tours where babies and young children (and their strollers!) are hosted every Friday and Saturday at 10:15 a.m. Free storytelling for toddlers is on hand November 13 at 1:30 p.m., where local librarians gather to offer their storytelling panache to little ones. Get your passes to the free permanent and temporary exhibits, and discover all that this beloved museum has to offer.
