Leap Day To-Do List

What would you do with an extra day? It’s a pressing question this February, because the 29th is officially Leap Day Monday! For many companies, it’s an official holiday, which means business travelers have just scored a bonus three-day weekend. Mondays aren’t usually a day to look forward to, but there’s an exception this month. Even better, many attractions won’t be busy and there are discounts all around you.

Check out the Negro Leagues Baseball Stadium and enjoy weekday entry prices. The Kansas City Zoo is the perfect destination for those who want to avoid the weekend/summer crowds. Many of the animals are roaming about, and you can take your time enjoying each exhibit. Union Station is a fantastic place to spend the afternoon, prime for people-watching and architect geeks.

Monday Funday

Leila’s Hair Museum is a funky attraction most travelers miss. See the stunning works of art created from (you guessed it!) human hair. Kaleidoscope is a must for anyone traveling with children. It’s a kid’s amusement center where you can easily spend the entire day.

The Uptown Theatre always has an exciting lineup, or head to one of the local cinemas for a matinee feature. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a great choice too, as is Swope Memorial Golf Course to work on your swing. Where’s your extra Monday taking you?
