PlazaCarriageOne of our favorite things to do with out of town guests (especially if they have children) is a day trip to Crown Center. During the holiday season, Crown Center is decked out from head to toe with everything from the Mayor’s Christmas Tree and Santa’s Crayola Christmas Land to the Crown Center Ice Terrace (admission is $6, skate rental $3, those 4 years of age and under are free.

Kansas City is also home to Hallmark Cards, which anchors the Crown Center Shops. The magical Kaleidoscope is located directly next door, where you and your children are encouraged to ‘explore, create, imagine and do’.  Admission is FREE and independent sessions (ages 5-12) and family sessions are offered throughout the week, check the website for details and how to obtain tickets.
