The Downtown Art Annual – Downtown Kansas City Art Fair

When you you’re looking for creative entertainment in Kansas City and want to experience the creativity of renowned and local artists alike, Kansas City is just the city to visit. You will find many different places in which you can view exhibits by local artists, view special exhibits that make the national circuit at one of the city’s three main art museums, or head downtown to the Kansas City Art Fair this May.

kc_art_festivalLocated in the Power and Light District in the downtown area of Kansas City, there will be 150 artists on hand to display their works of art. Displays that include paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photography and pottery will line the streets of the district, transforming the area into an art gallery. You are sure to find something that suits your creative tastes with the eclectic array of artists this fair will feature.

The art fair takes place on May 18 from 5pm – 9pm, 19 from 10am – 8pm, and 20 from 11am – 6pm, this year. Set you navigational system for 1370 Walnut Street and you’ll have no trouble finding the event. As always, the admission is free for this exciting cultural event.

Dining and entertainment in Kansas City is no problem in this area, as there is a variety of dining and live entertainment opportunities available. After a day of soaking in the local art flare, you can take in a live concert by the band Daughtry at the Midland Theater. Doors open at 7pm and the music begins at 8pm. Tickets are available online and range in price from $32.50 – $52.50. If rock music isn’t your thing, check out Rockwell Fridays at Hotel Nightclub. You’ll hear music by DJ Sam Young, DJ Mike Scott, Jukebox Heroes and more. Check out the website for reservations.
