Little ones love traveling back in time to discover the lost world. Dinosaurs and prehistoric plants are brought back to life as you meet 15 very realistic replicas, all created by local artist and fossil collector Guy Darrough. He’s Missouri’s fossil expert and renowned illustrator. Compliments of the Lost World Studios in Arnold, Missouri, his most popular models are in town, featuring real fossilized bones.

Time Travel

Highlights include the massive 32-foot T. rex and the huge 30-foot Hypsibema (the state’s official dinosaur!). Regular admission is $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 5-12. You can double down your visit by scheduling it for the weekend of October 1-2 when the Harvest Celebration and Antique Tractor Show is in town!

However, any time of year is a great time to visit the gardens. An incredible arboretum is available to peruse with optional guided tours. Fantastic photo opportunities, birding, and plant identification complements a relaxing day amidst one of the most beautiful parks in all of KCMO.
