July Festivals and Events
Summertime is upon us and with it comes loads of fun in and around the Kansas City area. When you’re looking for Kansas City events this July and you think fairs and festivals, this city will not let you down. Check out the following events before you plan your weekends of fun in July.
The biggest festival of all has to be the KC Riverfest on the 4th of July. This annual fair is held at Berkley Park along the Missouri River. There is always sumptuous food, great entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display to celebrate America’s independence. Entertainment this year includes the regional band, Outlaw Junkies, country sensation Dustin Lynch, the blues and jazz by the USAF Band of Mid-America,and more. Gates open at 1pm and close at 11pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or at a discount online.
If you have a passion for the arts or simply want to add a little culture to your summertime experiences, the KC Fringe Festival is just the ticket. The festival runs for 11 days beginning on July 19th and ending on July 29th. With this festival, you will enjoy an array of performing arts including theater, dance and music performances.
Shooting sports, carnival rides, live entertainment and more are common Kansas City events and all accompany the Wyandotte County Fair this July 24-28. There are some awesome events scheduled for the fair including Motorcross, Demolition Derby and Mudrun. Activities for kids abound, like a magician and a balloon artist, hands-on fun with a petting zoo, a Drum Safari performance by Brandon Drapes and much more. Get your family’s wristbands for the carnival and enjoy this weeklong Kansas City county fair.
Summer festivals and kids go hand in hand and that’s why you must check out the Kansas City Midwest Kids Fest this July in Overland Park. Only a 20-minute drive outside of Kansas City, this fest is two days of entertainment for the kids at the Overland Park Convention Center. The event runs from July 28-29 from 10am to 5pm. Amazing kids activities, live entertainment, interactive workshops, a bounce house and so much more await you at this fantastic Kansas City area July event. You’ll even see appearances by Disney’s Buzz Lightyear and Sesame Street’s Elmo!
