Japanese Cuisine

KCMO is home to some incredible Japanese restaurants, like Nara, which elevates a warehouse setting to the ultimate in chic dining. Available for lunch, dinner and with a sushi-only menu available, there are options for every craving. Get the grilled robata skewers at happy hour, and don’t forget the dessert menu for mochi, tempura fried ice cream, or tempura rumchata cheesecake bites! Dinner can include calamari, pad thai, and grilled scallops in lemon cream sauce.

At Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse, traditional hibachi menus are sure to satisfy in a simple, laid-back atmosphere. Order the gyoza dumplings, the Phoenix or black dragon roll from the sushi menu, and don’t miss out on the hibachi with chicken, shrimp, scallops, filet mignon or lobster. A side of lobster tail or sirloin steak really makes the meal.

The Steaks are High!

Gojo Japanese Steakhouse prepares your entire meal tableside, so you know it’s fresh! Part fine dining and part entertainment, some of the liveliest dinner preps include the seafood, landfood and airfood combo as well as the spiced onion steak. The Sumo Steak Special offers a filet mignon that’s 14 ounces!

Drunken Fish lives up to its name and is a popular late night spot with incredible cocktails. A gluten free menu is available, and the dishes are divine, but the drinks are what really draw a crowd. Imbibe with the Tokyo Tease, a three-olive cherry vodka, or the Madame Butterfly will treat you well with Smirnoff raspberry vodka, mango puree, pineapple juice and a little razzmatazz.
