Have Fun With Fido in Kansas City This Holiday Season

One of the most difficult parts of traveling out-of-town is figuring out what to do with your four-legged family member, especially during the holidays.  Most of us hate the idea of inconveniencing a friend or boarding them in a strangepet_friendly_hotel_kansas_city place–so why not make it easy by staying in Kansas City’s pet friendly hotel, the Best Western Seville Plaza!

So you’ve booked your stay at KC’s pet friendly hotel–now what to do with your pet?

One of the greatest things about Kansas City is that it truly is a dog friendly city–it’s here you’ll find many fun things to do with Fido, especially during the holiday season. From shopping and Santa to pet friendly parks, your dog will have just as much fun on his dogcation as you will.

Take a trip with your pup to locally owned Three Dog Bakery (612 West 48th Street, KCMO), where you can find freshly baked all-natural treats for your furry friend. You may buy everything from cakes to cookies–and they’ll even inscribe your pets name on them–although, they might lick it off before you even leave the store.

Just a few doors down at 606 W. 48th Street, you can also celebrate the holiday season with Three Dog sponsored Santa Paws!  Open every weekend from Thanksgiving until Christmas. Capture the spirit of the holidays with a photo of your pet with Santa. Pictures are $5 and benefit the Greater Kansas City Humane Society. Santa Paws is open Friday: 5:30-8pm and Saturday and Sunday from Noon-4pm.

Along with the Country Club Plaza, the Northland’s Zona Rosa is also extremely pet friendly. You’ll find dog bowls scattered throughout the shopping and dining district–and stickers on retailer windows if furry friends are welcome inside.

Kansas City is also home to many great dog parks–Mill Creek Park (just steps away from the Best Western Seville Plaza), Loose Park, and Penn Valley (leash free) are all great places to get out and enjoy some fresh air. Shawnee Mission Park’s Dog Park is one of the favorite off leash dog parks in the metro, t lets your pooch go off leash on the 53+ acre fenced in park. SMP includes lots of room for your pup to romp. The park is open year around during park hours.

Take the anxiety out of the dog watching dilemma and book a stay at a Kansas City pet friendly hotel and enjoy your vacation with your pet.
