Great Coffee Locations on the Plaza

Most visitors who travel to Kansas City enjoy spending at least some of their time shopping, dining and just enjoying the architecture and fountains that make the Country Club Plaza so famous.

However, no trip to the Plaza is ever complete without a little caffeine to rejuvenate the senses after all that walking and shopping…or maybe you just want to take a break and enjoy a latte with those you are with.

coffee_at-THE_plaza_kansas-cityWhether you are looking to get some java on the go, or prefer to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Plaza– here are some great places to grab some coffee.

LatteLand Espresso and Tea has two locations, the original, at 318 West 47th Street, and their West location, at 4771 Jefferson. The locally owned coffee destination offers up some amazing beans (try their seasonal coffees), awesome smoothies, and great tea (London Fog Latte is my favorite).  While Latteland’s are small, both locations have indoor and outdoor seating.

While also a restaurant, The Classic Cup is a great sit down coffee option with amazing patios and a European feel. Their beautiful bar is a great place to grab an espresso or cappuccino and take a shopping break.

Starbucks:  The coffee giant has a newly revamped location at 302 Nichols Road which has one of the best patios on the Plaza (if you can find a spot). There is also one located in Barnes and Noble (420 W. 47th St.) which has an extensive café with lots of seating.

Scooters:  A traditional coffee house, Scooters is located at 446 West 47th Street    .  Scooters is great on the go, and they have ample seating both in and out.

Panera Bread Company: Panera has an assortment of lattes, cappuccinos and the like if you are looking for a quick coffee option. Get it to go or stay and enjoy their café, 4700 Pennsylvania.

Cupcake a la Mode:  Nothing goes better than cupcakes and coffee in my opinion, so why not stop in and grab both? They are located on Wornall, across from Houston’s.
