Exploring The Great Art in KC This Summer
Spend a weekend exploring the fantastic art surrounding the Best Western Plus Seville Plaza Hotel near downtown Kansas City. The hotel is nestled between the world famous Nelson Atkins Museum of Art and the vibrant Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art.
Visit the Frieda Kahlo exhibit at the Nelson Atkins Museum until August 18th 2013. Never seen before in this region, her works will be exhibited in conjunction with her life partner Diego Rivera. Theirs was a tragic love affair, and that fact is displayed predominantly in her famous works of art.
In keeping with the artists heritage, follow up your tour with a sampling of Mexican food at the upscale Zocalo Mexican Restaurant on the Plaza. Sample a lobster quesadilla and wash it down with a specialty premium margarita!
If vintage art is not your cup of tea, then open your eyes to the bright colors of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art! 6×8 foot photographs of Western Landscapes by artist Laura McPhee are on display till September 22, 2013.
