Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead

Nestled in nearby Overland Park, this popular family-friendly attraction features birds of prey, farm animals, butterfly gardens, and winding nature trails suitable for all ages. There’s also a Kanza Native American display as well as a full-scale, traditional country schoolhouse to explore. You’ll find a well-stocked fishing pond, pony rides and plenty of playgrounds, too.

Take a horse-drawn wagon ride, or pack a picnic and spend the day embracing a simpler lifestyle. What began as a petting zoo in 1978 has flourished into a full-fledged farmstead. It’s a staple during the winter holidays, but in the summer, visitors will find a rich harvest and beautiful vistas.

Let’s Go Farming!

The farm is open April – October and during winter holidays. You won’t want to miss out on the experience to explore 12 acres of an educational farm destination and learn the inner workings of farm life. The goal is to connect all with the heritage of early-1900s Kansas City.

Mine for gems, check out a milking demonstration, and bottle feed pygmy goats. Given the natural cycle of farm life, every trip promises a unique experience. Bring your littles one, and discover the charm of the farm.
