Cajun Cuisine in KCMO

Spice up your trip to KCMO by checking out one of the many Cajun hot spots in town. For starters, head to Jazz – A Louisiana Kitchen where the jazzy appetizers include stuffed zucchini with a la mer sauce, voodoo crawfish tails beer battered in special sauce, and boudin with beans and rice. A huge selection of po’ boys, jambalaya and gumbo rounds out your trip down south.

At Beignet, you’ll find a lot more than the addictive beignets made famous in the French Quarter. Here, both sweet and savory beignets can be found, so you can spice things up before sweetening the deal. Choose from an eclectic mix of toppings to satisfy any craving, and don’t forget to take a look at their seasonal offerings.

Mardi Gras in Your Mouth

You don’t need to leave KCMO to go to Bourbon Street, the aptly named restaurant famous for their fried frog legs and crab nachos. Try the fried pickles, stuffed jalapeños or Cajun sticks, or try the Mexican mushrooms. Fried lobster and catfish pieces make for a delightful combination.

Cajun Cabin is a food truck where you’ll find shrimp étouffée, Cajun wraps and burritos, or go with the sampler plate complete with three different bowl items of your choosing. The shrimp and corn chowder, gumbo, and red beans with sausage are all tasty choices.
