An NYE Guide
You’ll find parties galore throughout KCMO for New Year’s Eve, but some of the biggest are definitely worth checking out. New Year’s Swinging’ Eve at Union Station always features live music from 8 p.m. well past the ball drop. Head to the Sprint Festival Plaza for a massive 1920s era party with swing and jazz music. There are hot appetizers, plenty of party favors and a cheerful midnight champagne toast.
Others prefer the party at the Power and Light District for live music, a variety of clubs and a plethora of restaurants serving special prix fixe menus. The NYE Live! Kansas City event starts at 8 p.m. and features the Times Square ball drop, fireworks, confetti cannons and 12 incredible bars. Enjoy live music, DJs and much more with three packages to choose from.
Swanky New Year’s Guide
Check out Californo’s Black Party NYE, located in Westport. It’s sponsored by a number of high-end brands including Crown Royal and features the Responsible Driver Program (if you’re the DD, entry is only $20). Fantastic entertainment, food, four rooms each with their own theme, drink specials and a champagne toast are just part of what make this party special. VIP is also available with private bars.
Slip into the Voodoo Lounge at Harrah’s in North Kansas City for a full night of specialty cocktails, dancing and a sensual atmosphere. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster, and it’s highly recommended to get them in advance. Otherwise, the lines can be quite long. For VIP, call 816-889-4237.
