Kaufmann Stadium
Visit the home of the Kansas City Royals at 1 Royal Way. At this professional baseball complex, visitors can explore the Royals Hall of Fame and a themed practice/play area for little ones as well as take in a local home game. Known as “The K” by locals, the stadium can seat 37,903 guests and opened in 1973. From the first home game, it’s been considered one of the best baseball stadiums in the country.
Kaufmann Stadium is part of the Truman Sports Complex and Arrowhead Stadium (where the Kansas City Chiefs and National Football League call home). Named after the founder of the Royals, Ewing Kauffman, it was created during an era when multi-sport stadiums were the norm. Along with Dodge Stadium, it’s remained one of the prime examples of contemporary stadium architecture. Today, it’s the only stadium named after a person and is one of just ten MLB stadiums without a corporate-sponsored name.
