The gorgeous, historic theatre was built in the 1920s and still hosts some of the best performances in KCMO.
You’ll find it at 1228 Main St. where opulence and elegance are foundational. Acquired by Arvest Bank in recent years, The Midland Theatre’s acquisition coincides with the anniversary of a major re-launch in 2008.
A multimillion-dollar renovation took several months, but when the grand theatre re-opened in 2008 it was to great acclaim. Since then, over 600 events have brought joy to 500,000 guests.
For many performers and artists, the Arvest is a “must-play” event on national tours. The theatre is tucked into downtown KCMO in the Power & Light District. Since its original opening in 1927, the theatre has hosted some of the best acts around the world, and that tradition continues. Today, guests enjoy flexible seating arrangements from standing room only events to theatre-style or banquet seating. Live shows can host up to 3,000 guests.
A New Life
The latest in A/V, lighting and additional amenities make the Arvest a favorite for performers and attendees alike. It’s also a popular venue for corporate events, private parties and weddings. Located right next door is the Indie on Main at 13th and Main Street. The bar focuses on music and is the perfect spot to grab a cocktail before or after an Arvest show.
Here, you’ll get lounge-style seating and a full bar. It’s also known for having some of the most affordable drinks in town. Open one hour before Arvest shows, ticket holders are treated to expedited entry prior to the general public. Check the calendar for recent events, or contact the theatre to design your own private party.
