Power & Light District
Newcomers to KCMO might not think the Power & Light District sounds like a trendy shopping, entertainment and dining mecca with art galleries, but that’s exactly what it is.
Set your GPS for 60 E. 13th St., and explore one of the city’s most concentrated destinations for fun 24/7. Dubbed the heartbeat of Kansas City, it’s where you’ll find equal parts residents and tourists strolling the streets and ducking into the hottest restaurants, bars and boutiques in the city.
There are over 50 shops, entertainment venues and restaurants in the district. It’s perfect for a date or a family outing. The relatively new neighborhood makes up nine city blocks and connects the Convention Center to the Sprint Arena.
Where to Go and What to Do
Conveniently close to your KCMO hotel, the top restaurants and bars include 801 Chophouse, Bar Louie, BRGR Kitchen, the Kill Devil Club, and the New American Kitchen.
Head to the Alamo Drafthouse for special events including live music and tastings. Mainstreet Cinema shows the latest Hollywood and indie flicks.
The KC Beer Garden is a popular stop and a place to rest between checking out the many shops in the area.
Bare Med Spa, Cosentino’s Market, the Downtown Garment District and Onelife Fitness Center are just a few stops in the district. Whether you’re headed to the Rally House Rooftop Park or the Sprint Studio, the Power & Light District is where the premier events in KCMO take place.
