Holiday Luminary Walk
It’s the 17th annual Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Garden Holiday Luminary Walk! Come and help December 4 – 5 from 5 – 9 p.m. at the beautiful Overland Park Arboretum where the biggest fundraiser of the year showcases a full mile of luminaries, lights and candles. Peppered along the stroll is live entertainment. Bring the little ones to visit Santa Claus, and take a romantic horse-drawn wagon ride around the landscape.
Warm up around the campfire with a cup of hot cider, or stroll through the Gnome and Fairy Villages to drum up some holiday magic. This year, staff and volunteers have turned the Arboretum into a veritable winter wonderland. There are thousands of candles along the trails and walkways, and holiday lights are strung from buildings, trees and bridges.
Christmas, KCMO Style
Each night, Santa is available for chats and wish lists from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. His Woodland Depot in the Train Garden is also open until 9 p.m. Watch toys in the making, and get some unique photo opportunities that you won’t manage in the malls. Advance tickets are available at the Westlake Ace Hardware stores, Hen House Market, or you can book directly online here.
It’s chilly this time of year, so bundle up, grab your ugly holiday sweater, and get ready to be treated to some of the most brilliant lights in the city.
