Kansas City Destinations with Free Admission
The only thing better than an exciting outing while traveling is a free one! There are countless freebies in KCMO, and it’s the perfect way to save during the holidays. The 1827 Log Courthouse is a landmark where President Truman once took care of business matters and it served as a services building for early settlers. The Boulevard Brewing Company offers free 40 minute tours highlighting KCMO’s favorite local beer.
The Bruce R Watkins Cultural Center is a testament to African American contributions around the metro and in American history. There are stage performances, special exhibitions and admission is always free. You can also check out the Children’s Peace Pavilion, a hands-on interactive museum for little ones for over 25 years.
Free is Fabulous
The City Market in KC’s historic River Market is the biggest in the region, with free admission and hours of exploration at the ready. It’s located right by the Arabia Steamboat Museum, which also offers free admission and holds the biggest collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the US.
Explore the Crown Center, also known as the entertainment district, for window shopping and samples galore. The Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead is a great choice, while First Fridays at the Crossroads Arts District lets you explore galleries, dine on nibbles and get a glimpse into the artisans of KCMO’s work.
