Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival
This city takes street art to a whole new level at the annual Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival. This multicultural celebration takes place September 8 – 9 at the Crown Center Square. You’ll see works by local amateur and student artists displayed on creative brick canvases created with colorful chalk. In addition to the artists there will be street performers, a special children’s area and workshops for all. Come out both days so you can see the artists’ finished works along the streets. Greek Fest
When you want to enjoy exotic foods from far away nations, there are Kansas City events that fit the bill perfectly. Whether you live in the area or plan to visit the city, check out the annual Greek Fest at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Kansas City. This annual festival is celebrating its 51st year September 7 – 9, 2012. You’ll find authentic Greek foods to sample, delicious Greek pastries, live entertainment and an area of fun just for kids. Enjoy the dancing at the festival with groups just for kids, groups for teens and groups just for the adults. The festivities start at 6pm on Friday, September 7, 2012. Zona Rosa Arts Festival
If you enjoy viewing the works of local and nationally known artists, then the Zona Rosa Arts Festival is just the ticket. Located at the Zona Rosa in Kansas City, this annual artist’s festival takes place September 14 – 16. In addition to the outstanding artwork, you can enjoy live entertainment, food and theater performances. The kinds of artwork you’ll see here include paintings, wood sculptures, jewelry and more.
