culinary destination for 2012.. and we couldn’t agree more. Looking for a good lunch spot? There are many in town—but here are our Top 5 Kansas City lunch spots.
1. Happy Gillis: (549 Gillis St., Kansas City, MO 64106): Located on the east side of KC’s City Market, Happy Gillis is one of the best lunch spots in town. This great little neighborhood joint offers everything from yummie soups to amazing sandwiches and has great service to boot. Order up and find a seat, which can be sparse, espically during the lunch hour.
2. Classic Cup: (301 W 47th St, Kansas City, MO 64112): The Country Club Plaza’s Classic Cup is one of the best brunch/lunch spots in the city. Their European fare, ranges from breakfast, pizza, and salads to sandwiches and pasta. The Cup also has one of the greatest patios in Kansas City, which is great for Plaza people watching.
3. The Mixx: If you are looking for something healthy, quick and cool—the Mixx is a great option. This locally owned spot, with locations west of the Plaza (4855 Main Street) and in the Power and Light District (1347 Main Street) offers soups, salads, and sandwiches that are all organic.
4. Da Bronx: Got a hankering for a New York style deli? Some say Da Bronx is the best pizza in town and it’s a top pick for lunch of most Kansas Citians. Grab a slice or one of their amazing sandwiches at one of their 3 locations around town.
5. Swagat Fine Indian Cuisine: (7407 NW 87th, Kansas City, MO 64153)4 7407 N W 87th Swagat, located in the Zona Rosa shopping district, has one of the best lunch buffets in the city. They have a huge variety of classic Indian dishes on their buffet, which runs seven days a week. The service is amazing and trust me, you’ll be going back for a few helpings.
